QLD:Fire family tells of mountainous grief

A relative of the family which lost 11 members in Queensland's horrific house fire
has broken down as he described how the family planned to move out the day after the fire.

JEREMIAH LALE, a first cousin to those who died, and the nephew of a survivor who shares
the same name, spoke on behalf of the family at a media conference today.

Through tears, Mr LALE says his uncle had been living in the home for two months because
his aunt had wanted to care for her two sisters, who needed round the clock medical care.

He says she did that on top of caring for her five children.

But Mr LALE says the family had been successful in obtaining a nearby rental property,
and planned to move out yesterday.

But the home was destroyed on Wednesday morning at Slacks Creek, south of Brisbane.

The 11 members of the family who died were across three generations.
