Vic: Police name missing paraglider
Police have released the name of a paraglider missing since Wednesday in rugged bushland
near Tawonga Gap in north-eastern Victoria.
He is 34-year-old GENE PAUL LARSEN, from the New Zealand city of Rotorua.
About 100 searchers are scouring the bushland area for any sign of Mr LARSEN who confirmed
by UHF radio that he was injured before the intermittent radio messages, in the form of
clicking sounds, ceased.
Mr LARSEN took off from Mystic Point, near Tawonga Gap, around 3pm (AEST) Wednesday,
and friends raised the alarm after he failed to return that day.
Searchers say they're hopeful of finding him alive.
They search will continue over the weekend.
(Eds: Latest information changes age of missing man from 36 years to 34 years.
